Hello, my name is VA. and I’d like to share a bit of my story with you all today. I came to this country as an infant and was brought up in Los Angeles, CA. I always thought I was just like anyone else here in the states. Not really knowing that I wasn’t documented until I became aware of conversations the older adults had in my upbringing regarding immigration. Growing up I was always living in the shadows thinking I had to constantly watch out for “la migra” and not go beyond the LA county “or else”. The thought of getting caught at the wrong place at the wrong time was something that was engraved in my upbringing. Years went by and my husband and I heard about Attorney Francis Henriquez through a relative of mine. I will never forget the first day I called the attorneys office. I was very nervous stuttering over the phone with my Spanish. Thankfully the receptionist was able to provide me with information and most importantly continue the conversation in my preferred language. To me this was HUGE because I’m mostly comfortable speaking in English. It was then that I was able to set my very first appointment and later received a friendly reminder via text which by the way I thought was very cool! I have been a U.S. citizen since 1981. As time went by I retired from the health and home care profession. I decided to petition my daughter and her two children after a friend of mine gave me information about a particular law firm that he saw on an advertisement bulletin post that was on the outside of the company’s vehicle. We both met with attorney Francis R Henriquez and her staff. We were very impressed with the way we were treated, very professional and courteous. Even went beyond the call of duty and provided a translator to speak (Togalo Philippines) with no extra charges, cost, or fees. Very true. Everyone performed as a real team and completed their part extremely well. They would always returned my phone calls and would give a update to our case without having to constantly wonder about our case, the office also has a cellphone that you can always text any question even on weekends, and promptly they get back to you with a response.  That meant a lot to me. I arrived in the United States in 1989 looking for a better life like many of us who come to the U.S.  My life in this country has been very difficult without legal status, with many highs and lows and thanks to God, I always stayed ahead. 

I had 2 children born in the United States and I fought a lot for them. I had the opportunity to apply for work permit in the past and waited more than 18 years.

I arrived in the United States in 1988 and almost 30 years without any status. Estuve varios años sin documentos legales en los Estados Unidos.
En el ano 2005 obtuve un permiso de trabajo por medio del proceso de asilo político, por lo cual estuve en corte de inmigración hasta que sali de corte bajo la ley P.D. (Persecución Discreción) en el año 2014. Ya mi papa siendo residente permanente de EE. UU, me había metido una petición familiar en el 2010. Gracias a Dios encontramos a la abogada Francis R. Luego a los anos mi padre se hiso ciudadano (con la ayuda de la Abogada Francis Henriquez) y me volvió a meter la aplicación como hijo mayor de un ciudadano. La abogada Francis Henriquez y su equipo se encargaron de llevar mi caso de inmigración, me ayudaron en todo… me sentí tan feliz cuando fue aprobado mi perdón dentro de los estados Unidos…. inmediatamente la abogada Francis Henriquez reabrió mi caso de asilo para obtener una última audiencia con el Juez y cerrar mi caso con salida voluntaria a mi país.
